E4E - have you seen the Spike Lee documentary yet? Really powerful, angry and thought provoking.

It was on HBO - sure they will show it again.

You know what is really IRONIC? The fact that there is a huge tropical storm developing into a hurricane and it is headed directly toward dozens of oil platforms in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico.

Think about it. We run millions and millions of internal combustion engines burning fossil fuel for a century, which creates global warming which contributes to the creation of a hurricane which threatens to destroy a forest of oil platforms decorating the Gulf of Mexico.

It is Mother Nature striking back. Ironic.

Thanks for this. Even on top of Spike Lee's 4 grueling hrs (my god, I'm dying just watching it & these people lived through it!). In your clip, Jack Cafferty perfectly encapsulated my outrage (how hard would it be to airdrop supplies?).

Spike Lee had a good contrast moment for Bush's belated & begruding stage-lit NOLA appearance -vs- Lyndon Johnson when Hurricane Betsy came there in the 60's. LBJ walked into these flooded neighborhoods, all dark/no power, people very frightened. He stood up with a flashlight & said "I am your President and I am here with you!" ... Like comparing a Human Being with a miserable worm IMO. D.K.

I really like Jack Cafferty...sometimes I wonder how he keeps his job there because he is soooo straight forward with criticizm. He takes no prisoners and tells it like it is no matter who it is.

Sidenote:The Church in the video is the same church in the photos on Rude Pundit and that I have posted below....

Now on another note....Thanks for coming by DK, Newsguy, and Sumo..
and yeah, Jack is the Best....I will always remember him yelling about the Air Drops,God Bless him, risked his job to yell about sandwiches...and Bush didn't get his sorry ass in there until Friday...Fucking Friday- Absolutely Criminal...Bush came in all Glory&Thunder, The Kiss-My-White-Ass -Commander-In-Thief.....Absolute Genocide...Dead People floating in the Water...

This will always make my blood boil...always.

According to SBC phone records there are still 1000's missing- unaccounted for....period.

This was a manmade disaster, and I have always thought of it as genocide. I do not believe for one moment that our government was not totally aware that the nation's poorest, most dibilitated, and colored, would not be able to evacuate.

I am no fan of Nagin either, he was involved in getting DVDs delivered to pastors at the city's poorest churches (black of course) telling the public that if a hurricane hits, "You are on your own." I think he lept to criticizing the government when the depth of the destruction became overwhelming, but before then, he just "went-along-to-get-along."

This is our nation's great shame, and next week when Bush does photo ops and other stunts in the Gulf Coast region to show how much he has been doing, I will vomit right there on my remote control.

God knows how many perished in that storm. The government has covered this up too, but I am sure it is in the tens of thousands.

According to SBC records of March- 33,000 are and were missing- story was printed down in Texas- and has been hushed up- and even the articles removed....

It is now Sunday 4pm and According to the Cone of Certainity-whatever the hell that is, say that Ernesto has picked up speed and strength- and is now a Hurricane and moving towards Haiti and Cuba ( Gitmo) at 75-80 MPH....
