12:15 Conyers is Speaking, and saying how we need to FIRE Bush, he is speaking about how Bush is so wrong, and he is quoting Maureen Dowd's Words this am..."You the People need to Force Washington to DO the Right thing" "Bush is not the Commander in chief of this Country"......he is talking about Founding Fathers....( he is really fired up- have never seen him like this)....Impeach Bush is now being chanted LOUDLY....

Lyn Woolsey ( rep of California) is speaking now...

Maxine Waters spoke and now Rocky Anderson is speaking...Rocky is Rocking- he is now letting the MSM they SUCK...wow...he is pretty fired up...12:34...He has them chanting NO MORE.... and in between Speakers the Crowds chant IMPEACH BUSH...
YOU CAN NO LONGER SEE GRASS.....THE GRASS IS COVERED WITH PEOPLE......IT IS A SEA OF PEOPLE....

RA'ED JARRAR is speaking from Iraq, he is asking to end the Occupation....( they must hate us..) "We want OUR country back"" Even the Current Iraqi Parliment wants the Occupation OUT" ( I hang my head in shame- I feel like need to write this man a letter of apology...so wrong what has happened in his country)

Photographers keep coming up and taking pictures from the stage....it is getting close to 1pm, I really wonder if at 1pm Cspan is going to cut away...

Now Military families and VETS are speaking....David Kline is speaking from VETS for Peace, he is doing good...." Hey Hey Uncle Sam, we remember Vietnam, We must defund this war".....

I will chant while I pack.....Hey Hey Uncle Sam...

DEAR CSPAN- THANK YOU FOR COVERING THE RALLY FOR 4 WHOLE HOURS, BUT I STILL HAVE TO SAY SHAME ON YOU....YOU SAID THE CROWD ESTIMATES ARE "SEVERAL THOUSAND" , CAN YOU NOT COUNT? IF THE CAMERA PANS AND NO GRASS CAN BE SEEN FOR AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE- THEN YOU INDEED HAVE THOUSANDS....STOP THE PROPAGANDA AND LIES...THANKS ....

It was very moving to see so many there. I tuned in late, so hope it's replayed later. I'm always proud of SLC's Rocky Anderson & wish all utahns supported him. I hope he gave his "we were not lead into war, we were lied into war" speach. And wow, even Jane Fonda talked, so where was John Kerry? I hope the actual march down Constitution Ave gets some coverage. ~~ D.K.

DK: Rocky did indeed give a GREAT speech- one of the best of the day- he really had the crowd chanting- and yes, he did the LIE speech. And Jane Fonda Spoke for the first time in 34 years, bless her- and she was good...REALLY good...she came with her daughter and her grand-children. The MSM more than sucked , they have barely mentioned it all day...I am sooooo disgusted.....

What today really needed was MUSIC....but otherwise it was so beautiful...I wanted to go do bad...but atleast most of it was on cpsan..still haven't seen aerials- if I could just see one aerial I could estimate crowds numbers ( I saved the formula used for the Million Man March- I will be honest this looks Bigger)

Susan Sarandon...okay she totally rocked...brought up all of the VET stats that the FEDS never mention....she brought up that the War is here....there are families and VETS suffering here...

and Tim Robbins ....wow...they make a pretty impressive pair...and he started his speech with " Rove just got supoenaed " the crowd went nuts...."Is Impeachment still off the Table??"

great idea, enigma! i saw a gew speakers on cspan before i left the house today. jane fonda kicked ass! jesse jackson and medea benjamin made me cry.
i went to my local peace march and assembly. very small, and more "preaching to the choir"---but undeniably powerful. it felt so good to do something with all of my distress, rage, sorrow, on-and-on.

that should have read: "few"
fun with typos!

Annie: I knew what you meant...I will watch over and over on cspan as I pack and I will listen to 70's music....Marvin Gaye"What's going on...?"

Have Hope Good Woman...Have Hope....

I wish I could have been there this time. Last time Cindy Sheenan spoke. I'm glad Fonda did her thing. This war will be worse than 'Nam if it keeps going.

Hi Enemy- I think that it is already worse than Vietnam in many ways- and I have had VETS say that to me as well...Jane Fonda- it was more I was struck by the Deja Vu of it- how strange that it is 34 years later and she is back marching against something should never have happened.....We can't all go every time...but if we support those that are there and do our OWN thing where we are- that matters..that counts......Like your blog- and blogging about things that matter....Keep it up....thank you...

Well Future that is some goooood news- thank you.
Now I have some frustation to share- it is MN and I made a deal with myself that at MN I could take a packing break and read some of the GREAT War Protest Articles that I saved earlier- at 4pm there were oer 671 Google articles- from ALL over- New Zealand, the Guardian ,and even Chinese and Indian Papers- NOW...GONE- Google has Eliminated them...I am pissed- this is so frustating....

So saturday what happened in Baghdad...
7 or 8 more US military died, bringing total to 71 for month- another artlce said it was 63...I think the 71 is right.....and 60 bodies were found scattered around of civilians, men , women and children, signs of cruel and torture- I do think the US occupying is making it worse....

I also keep thinking is bush hiding from the Public- and is he escalating things- IRAN- so that the Scooter Trial will not catch him??? is that possible?
Is he so ego- manical that he would do such a thing- I think he is...

Go to Nightbirds Fountain and she has Great Pictures from today's march....really wonderful.

823 articles about the Protests this am as of 6:30am...and BTW more than half are foreign...

Now isn't it strange that this Sunday morning, every single news report refers to "tens of thousands" of protestors in DC? Those exact same vague words used by all. That makes me think the media echo-chamber is working on its best parrot imitation yet. Who are they parroting? Where do these exact words come from? And why so purposefully vague? It's a very carefully chosen phrase. ~~ D.K.

Only one article said 500,000 in DC...it was a Middle East paper, and not american....or american connected....Also almost ALL the Articles are by the same persons Woodward and Maranaka ( sp) ....very odd....really strange.

Also I tried to find photos- I mean we all saw all the cameras there- and good luck finding them...really strange...

CENSORSHIP....yeah.

Our local paper under-reported the turnout at the Palm Springs demonstration also. Go figure.

Still, I love the pictures I took. :)

Dada said...

msliberty: sorry your paper under reported your Palm Springs turnout. Our El Paso paper didn't even report ours! I guess their reporters take the weekends off, which dovetails nicely with reality as we all know no real news happens on the weekends.

I finally watched CBS Face the Nation with Bob Schieffer (I record this stuff & usually don't make it through the first commercial) from this morning. His lead was "hundreds of thousands march on DC in a protest reminiscent of a previous war". Well, holy cow, you could've knocked me over. Bob Shieffer of all people, breaking from the pack & calling it HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS! At the end of his program, he said when americans realize they're being lied to, they tend to get rid of the liars. So, there's a bit of hope in the network news, CBS anyway (the station that brought us the truth about GWB's shameful national guard service). ~~ D.K.

Well Well...I can't believe it...CBS...holy cow...I think I have to go back and change my headline....wow..that is good news...

Good post, Enigma. Got some pix from the L.A. rally over at my blog.

It was an awesome day! The Washington Post reported 10's of thousands. All I can say is there were tons of people.

Thanks Mary and Newsguy for sharing the wonderful pics- so good to see Our People telling the Govt the truth...not a single protest here in Cleveland- of course it was like 14 degrees and a snow storm- but still damnit- I would have gone for a couple of hours....
