I've gotten to the point of hardly bothering to attempt seeking documented truths behind most of the scandals and malfeasance we face today. An ongoing and life long study of this bizarre society has revealed a startling, quantifiable, and predictable trend in human (corporate / pink handed money changer) behavior.

Avarice Reigns Supreme.

When I heard about this debacle, coincidentally enough, two days after being approached in Atlanta ITP by a shill for the "Clean Coal" industry, I waited for news of water tests. And waited... And waited. "Higher than normal" doesn't mean squat. And neither does "Expected to be safe." These people should demand hard numbers taken by a non-partisan entity. Every mineral, chemical or metal has a differing level of bio-tolerance, inclination for build-up in organs, and direct toxicity level.

I have numerous Hatch reagent based water tests available at my disposal, many take mere minutes to run, but after weeks of waiting we still no hard evidence; no test results, no facts. This is not rocket science, it IS, however, subterfuge. Granted a formal lab test, which similarly takes mere days, may be more accurate, but I'll accept a chemical reagent test with a 2% margin of error over dead silence and denials any day - I want to hear the voice of science and truth.

I'm betting that time will prove this to be an environmental disaster with decade long effects to the surrounding human and animal populations. Sure, it may be safe to bath in and water your lawn - but I would damned sure be investing in a reverse osmosis water filter if I were forced to drink and cook with it.

Conventional public water processing (city water) does nothing to remove most contaminants in question, and amounts to a glorified sediment filter and chemical treament for pathogens.

Chalk another one up to the BushCo Free Market Regime of vulture capitalists.

Marks Twain once said, and I'm paraphrasing here:
"History may not repeat itself, but it certainly rhymes."

It is unfortunate that a majority of people refuse to dissect the wall of noise in order to isolate the fundamental rhythm of greed.

Sorry, E4E, I'm pissed as usual...
