The Story of Ben's Chili Bowl in DC....and Obama's visit there this weekend and why it matters...

Obama went there this weekend on January 10th....it has quite a History...Opened in the 1950's...Always Served ALL Customers Black and White the same...and So I was watching the 1600 Pennsylvania Show with David Shuster yesterday and he explained how it had even stayed open during the riots in 1960s...and how the Night Obama won the Election the People had celebrated there and then moved in the Street and then the Police had escorted them as they marched sang and danced over to the WhiteHouse.....

The Party that Started at Ben's Chili Bowl and moved to the Whitehouse on Election Night....is posted, linked to the title...note how Dark the Whitehouse is...and the people Celebrating , No One stops them.....a beautiful thing... and it started at the Chili BowI.... need to take my son there for a Chili Dog....and some History...

This will be so neat. He said he was worried about staying in touch. But if he continues like this. He has no worries.

I don't know why people are doubting him so much. He just makes me feel good. I am so proud of him.

I've had this place as a definite stop when I get a chance to visit Washington DC - which we hope to do this year or next.

The sight of all those lovely folks celebrating outside the White House was truly awesome that night.

Have you seen Obama's open letter to his daughter in Parade magazine - warning - you will need tissues!

My take is a tad more cynical. Sorry.

I had no idea a Chili Dog place could have so much historical impact! BTW, I still don't know what a "half-smoked" is.
