So How many times did Bush Lie about Torture TO THE WORLD ???

2007....

with Larry King....

And here Bush says that Waterboarding was legal ( so at first he says that we don't torture- then he says it is legal-
it can not be BOTH.....)

And here he is in 2006...

This 7 minute interview shows How Dangerously twisted Bush's thinking was about Torture or "questioning" was - dangerous and immoral....there is no defense for what he says....

I thought it sort of serendipitous that limbaugh justified torture because John McCain admitted that North Vietnamese torture broke him down.

I wonder though if McCain had he become president would he have had the courage to release these memos to the world?

I can't even listen to this-- it was difficult enough the first time around.

What was the point of releasing the info if nothing will be done about it?????

Suddenly, it dawned on me why Obama released the info- but is not taking action on it.

His plate is full.

But by releasing the info - from the ACLU FOIA request, he has put the info out there for others to take legal action against.... because the laws that were broken are both Domestic and International.

Obama has opened the door to the info, allowing others to follow up.

Freeing Obama up to work on Health Care, Education & Tax reform & that little issue of the economy.

In a way Obama has *released the hounds* on the torture issue... setting the truth free, therefore leting others move ahead with legal action against the bush admin crimes.

It is starting to make sense now.

Now will people start getting angry enough to write to their Congress Person, to AG Holder and push for investigation and prosecution. It was never Pres. Obama's place to do in the first place. I have tried to say that over and over. It needed to be in Congress and in the DoJ, not in the Executive Branch.

Congress also needs to as I said in my post the other day.. Get off their Duff and get to work. Pres. Obama signed the Exec. Order 2 days after he took office that stopped torture.. yet Congress has never yet passed a bill.. WHY??? It should have, that should have triggered an instant bill to make it into a law instead of just an Exec. Order about the issue.

They also need to be getting busy with bills on all the other crap bush left as he ruined the Country the last 8 years. But they have done nothing about it.

It is time they got off their asses and did something.. what are they waiting for.. Pres. Obama to lead them by the hand.. or the nose to get it done??

And he and others should be held responsible. Unfortunately President Obama has turned a blind eye. Evidently President Obama agrees with Peggy Noonan and will just walk by.
Peace.

Remember Bush told those school kids who were touring the white house when they had the temerity to ask him WHY we are torturing. Through tightly controlled lips, he told those kids, "Amerca dudn't torchure". I don't recall the year, but even school kids were asking him about it, so the WH went on some ad campaign releasing formal statements in newspapers at the time, to reassure us all that no torturing was being done. If Clinton could be impeached for lying about a BJ, certainly the Bush Gang should've been. That's why they went to such great legal lengths to redefine torture. Water under the bridge now, of course ... except for the fact that they are all still open for DOJ investigations as Eric Holder confirmed on Rachel last night. Obama can signal about the future all he wants, but Holder and DOJ have their own criteria for justice. The DOJ is not a toadie dept and Holder is not the toadie Gonzo was. I hope.

Pres. Obama just stated he was leaving it up to AG Holder to do.. it was NOT the POTUS's decision to make.

He has to stay out of that decision it is not up to the president, it has always been up to congress and the AG... the president can express his opinion just like can we all.. but that's it.

I watched him this am....and what he said was that it needs to be investigated and explored by the Appropriate people- AG and Congress...but this was very different than what Rahm Emmanual had said- or David had said about looking "forward"...and yes, he looked concerned and worried and yes, we know that he is looking at it....

We are in unchartered territories- Our president has to look at the Previous President and WHAT he did...but that does not mean he can act as a Lawyer and Investigated and Prosecute....BUT he can ask his JD and Judiciary Committee to investigate...he can do that....there is also a problem here in that Many Americans STILL do not KNOW enough or Believe that Bush tortured....we Need OUTRAGE and ANGST to come From THE People...us...we need to blog it and keep the heat on....that we as Americans KNOW what was done in OUR name....we the Public can demand investigations and I think that we need to do that....

( so CSPAN junkies that means getting out ALL the videos that show HOW we were lied to about the torture.....now is the time...)

But that's why he has been doing all this.. he is trying to get the peoples anger up. If they ever do.. then it will get done, maybe... I am still not sure there are enough people out there who believe what was done is wrong, that is the problem.. yes, we do, but there are an awful lot of people out there who think that it is different for the terrorists because of what they did.. how it is different I haven't a clue.. but that's what people think.

I maintain, they are no different than the Japanese who bombed Pearl Harbor, but some people do.

I think people can not believe that we torured- or that anyone did....

at some point we should look at the Suicides and were ANY of our Military Suicides people that worked at Gitmo...

and yeah- it is going to take the People getting angry and fired up to have Something happened..

( I just hope that it is not like the 911 hearings- that took forever...)
